Reflection Statement:
The three sculptures in this collection demonstrate negative space and perspective. Depending on the angle from which the sculptures are viewed, the end result differs. There was an emphasis on the contrast between lights and darks and how they interact with the space around them. I felt the work was lacking depth before adding the black ink to the balsa wood after it was added, it created a sense of space that was not evident before. Making this work exposed me to experimenting with space and a specific set of materials, which limited me physically but not creatively.
